Before becoming a coffee aficionado (because I still don't consider myself an addict), what I drank every morning was a nice cup of hot chocolate; creamy and smooth thanks to the good fat in almond milk, rich with all the chocolate goodness of the chocolate chips and the sweetness balanced with the bitterness of cocoa powder and the spiciness of cinnamon.
For my first ever video on the blog (yeyy!!) I decided to share with you one of my favorite creations from the kitchen, this very hot chocolate. I’m going old school with this video, mostly because my video editing skills are like that, old school. That means no cuts, intermixing takes or background music. But I’ll be getting there, promise! In the meantime, enjoy this short, one take and straightforward video. Full recipe below.
Creamy and smooth hot chocolate
Total time - 2 minutes
Almond milk – 1 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder – 1 TBSP
Semi sweet chocolate chips – 2 TBSP
Raw sugar – 1 TBSP
Ground cinnamon – 1 pinch
In a small saucepan heat the almond milk in medium heat until just boiling. Add the cocoa powder and stir with a whisk until the powder is dissolved. Add the chocolate chips and whisk until melted, then add the sugar and whisk until dissolved. Sprinkle the cinnamon and retire form heat. Pour in a mug and enjoy while hot!
