This is a really special in-the-neighborhood place for us. Too many lunches with my husband in the middle of the week and charming light dinners over the weekend. The cool thing about this sushi place is that you could practically go around the island with the creative creations in their menu. For starters there is the bacalaíto roll, inspired by the popular Puerto Rican beachy round fritter of flour and salted cod batter. Some of my favorites are the amarillito roll, crab covered with rice and topped with a thin slice of fried sweet plantain, and the culebra, named after one of our small islands, and has shrimp, avocado, cream cheese and is covered with kanikama and Japanese mayo. They have a great Japanese specialties with a Puerto Rican twist, besides a great selection of artisan beers and sakes. So if you ever find yourself around town stop by and have a great time!
